Fees, clearance and getting paid

Before you set prices, you must know how much of each order actually reaches you and when.

Fiverr's fee

Fiverr keeps 20% of every order as its fee, including extras and tips. The buyer pays a separate service fee on top of your price; that part does not come out of your earnings.

Example: you sell a $50 package. Fiverr keeps $10 and you earn $40. If you want to earn $40, price the package at $50, not $40.

Clearance: when the money becomes yours to withdraw

After an order is completed, your earnings wait for a clearance period before you can withdraw them. For most sellers this is 14 days; Top Rated sellers and Fiverr Pro sellers usually wait less. During this time the money shows as "pending" in your earnings page.

Plan for this delay. Your first withdrawal will come roughly two weeks after your first completed order, not on the same day.

Withdrawing your earnings

Fiverr offers several withdrawal methods, and which ones work depends on your country. In Pakistan, sellers commonly use Payoneer (a Payoneer account linked to Fiverr) or bank transfer, which Fiverr also routes through Payoneer, so you need a Payoneer account either way. PayPal does not work for receiving money in Pakistan.

Each method has its own fee and conversion rate. Compare them on Fiverr's withdrawal page before choosing, because small differences add up over a year.

Keep records

Write down every order: date, buyer username, order amount, Fiverr fee and the amount you withdrew. Freelance income can be taxable; in Pakistan, registering as a freelancer and using official banking channels can affect your tax rate. Rules change, so check official sources or a tax adviser.

Practice task (10 min)

1. Decide how much you want to earn from your first package (for example $16).
2. Calculate the price you must set: earning ÷ 0.8 (for example $16 ÷ 0.8 = $20).
3. Start a simple record sheet with these columns: date, buyer, order amount, Fiverr fee, amount earned, amount withdrawn.
